State of the International Student Recruitment and Enrollment Field Survey
The American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), in cooperation with BONARD and association partners the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), is pleased to present the results of the State of the International Student Recruitment and Enrollment Field Survey. This landmark project will help us not only to understand the current state of the field, but also to anticipate and plan for the future.
The field of international student recruitment and enrollment has a long past but a relatively short history. While international student sojourns have taken place for millennia, the creation of a distinct professional field is a relatively recent phenomenon, and continues to this day.
This survey is both a sign of the field’s increasing professionalization and an important way to advance it. Each professional field relies on objective, timely and useful data to progress, and this survey aims to fulfill this need.
The survey results provide benchmark data reported by more than 300 higher education host institutions and educational recruitment agencies during what is a dynamic period for international enrollment management.
The data relates to a variety of important topics related to students, staff, organizational structure and goals, finances and budget, recruitment and enrollment channels and roadblocks, advocacy, and institution- agency partnerships.
